Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy in Domme. Her parents were dentists as well as a teacher recognized and encouraged her passion for theater and acting as early as she was a child. This was more important than a desire to be a primatologist due to her love of monkeys. When she was a teenager rising to the heights of fame was swift and ended with early success. When she graduated in 1998, her education, she was selected to participate in Jeunes Premiers which is a French TV talent-scouting programme sponsored by Canal+. There she was awarded the prize for the Best Young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to begin her professional career as an actor. Tautou is a pupil of her school at the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and was a student there from young age she has since renounced her Catholic childhood. The actress claims to be a non-Catholic. Along with her acting career she started a modeling career. She is also the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. An avid photographer, she has recently exhibited at The Arles International Festival titled Superficial. The majority of her photography is focused on fame and celebrity and focuses the camera on the journalists who scrutinised her when she exploded in fame and fortune with Amelie in addition to a series of self-portraits. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first major role starring as a lead character in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a the box office and was recognized at award ceremonies across the globe. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to date in the US. The success of this movie brought Tautou into a wide range of roles, ranging from British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
