Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a popular Indian actress, best famous for her role in Beta Saajan, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. She first began her career acting in the 1980s. She became famous for the film Tezaab starring an established actor Anil Kooor. Then she appeared in the film Dil where she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance at an early age. When she was a teen she started acting, and was a victim for a few years due to the fact that her early films failed. She eventually became one of the biggest actresses of Indian film. Following her wedding, she took a break from her acting career until she returned. She played a major role on Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit is nominated to win the fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Padma Shri - the fourth most highly regarded civilian award in India is awarded to Dixit. Also, she has earned a name for her social activism.
